My name is Alison Sideris, and I have spent the past 20 years decorating for the film and television industry on a variety of projects, from independent movies to television shows. I’m best known for decorating on HBO’s critically acclaimed series Six Feet Under, and continue designing for the long running improv show Whose Line is it Anyway?
I’ve recently moved with my clan to Evanston to raise my kids in a more family-friendly environment. But I’ve brought the talents I honed in Hollywood with me.
With an eye for color and a love of classic design, I believe that your home should be your refuge, and that even the smallest touch can transform a room and put a smile on your face.
I’m very excited to offer my vision for homes throughout the North Shore and Chicagoland area, and looks forward to speaking with you about your project.
Philosophy
I have three very simple philosophies that guide me when it comes to decorating.
Timeless — Not Trendy
The latest trend might appeal to you today, but what about tomorrow? I like interiors that can withstand the test of time. There is nothing worse than spending money on a trend that quickly falls out of favor leaving your home looking dated.
Don’t Be Afraid Of Color
Something I often hear from clients is that they are bad with color. To compensate, they either shy away from color or completely overindulge. Color (when used correctly) can transform your room – whether adding a fresh coat of paint to the walls or adding accent colors through pillows, rugs, or art.
Mix it up!
Classic CAN mix with contemporary. Carefully selecting from old and new creates harmony in a room giving it an added charm.

Personal Shopping
Are you looking for that perfect couch? A certain-sized table for a breakfast nook? Or maybe just a piece of art? As a decorator I spent a lot of my time searching for that one perfect item that really makes the room work, and I’d love to do that for you.
I shop throughout the Chicagoland area, and from the boutiques of Los Angeles to the barns of Midwest. So whether it’s something you need right now, or something you’re hoping that I might come across during my travels, we can find a way to get you what you need on your budget and timeframe.
Budget
I feel that everyone has the ability to live in a well-decorated home, regardless of budget. There are many simple tips and tricks that can transform a room without spending a lot of money. Adding a new color to your walls, a signature piece of furniture, or even a small knickknack can change the way you feel about your home. Even something as simple as updating a lampshade can change the feel of a room without breaking the bank.
I look forward to working within your budget to turn your house into the home you’ve always dreamed of.
